Dr. Jean Abède Alexandre is the Lead Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Congregation, a large multicultural church in Boston. A Licensed Psychologist and Marriage Counselor, he graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master of Theology in 1986 and his Doctor of Ministry in 2011.
He also obtained a Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from George Fox University in Portland, Oregon, in 1989. In January 1990, he was recruited by Cambridge Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to complete his postdoctoral residency, during which he worked at the Haitian Mental Health Clinic in the Psychiatric Department. Dr. Alexandre has been married to his lovely wife and ministerial partner, Myrlande Edith, for over 40 years. They are the proud parents of two adult sons, Jean Abede II and Jonathan with his wife Renee.
They also take pride in being grandparents to two lovely girls, Lennon and Valerie. Drawing from his personal and professional experience, he published his first book, “Marital Happiness Is a Choice,” in 2013 to help singles and married couples alike develop and sustain godly, healthy, and happy relationships.
